Pētniecības virziens sociālajās zinātnēs aptver tādas tēmas kā augstākās izglītības ieinteresēto pušu vajadzību novērtēšana, pedagogu profesionālā attīstība, mācību programmu inovācija un dizains, nozares un akadēmisko aprindu sadarbība, 21. gadsimta prasmju apguve studentu vidū, efektīva AII vadība, pētījumi par tehnoloģiju lomu mācību procesa uzlabošanā, institucionālā kultūra un pārmaiņu vadība, uz studentiem orientēta mācību vide, izglītības politikas ietvaru izpēte, ētiskas līderības un sociālās atbildības lomas izpēte 21. gadsimta darbaspēkā, mūža garumā mācīšanās, datu pratības nozīmes izpēte, uzņēmējdarbībai nepieciešamo prasmju analīze, kultūras kompetences un daudzveidības izpratnes nozīmes pārbaude globalizētā pasaulē, jaunu tehnoloģiju, piemēram, mākslīgā intelekta, ietekme uz darbaspēku un sabiedrību izpēte un citi.

Galvenā uzmanība tiek pievērsta pētījumiem, kas saistīti ar SDG4 “Kvalitatīva izglītība”.
