Visit of EKA representatives to the Almaty Management University

From August 14 to 18, the EKA delegation visited the Almaty Management University in Kazakhstan within the framework of the UXiship project. The purpose of the visit was to examine the possibilities of integrating entrepreneurial content into IT study programmes. During the visit, the EKA team introduced colleagues from project partner universities in Kazakhstan with their examples of integrating business content for IT students and also got acquainted with the experience of Kazakh colleagues.

The EKA University of Applied Sciences was represented on the visit by the rector O. Lentjusenkova, vice-rector of science J. Titko, professors V. Vevere and V. Zarina, assistant professors E. Cerkovskis, K. Steinbergs, J. Budanceva, N. Verina, programme director K. Karasevskis, and quality manager J. Pildavs.

EKA representatives introduced their Kazakh colleagues to topics such as corporate social responsibility, staff loyalty and motivation, the use of artificial intelligence in the negotiation process, international markets, the financial stability of companies, and quality management. Practical workshops were also conducted on the use of digital tools in project management courses and student engagement, the use of virtual reality in the study process, the Rotterdam dilemma game, Network IQ Intelligence methodology, etc. There were also general meetings with the management of the university and within the framework of the project. In addition to representatives from Almaty Management University, teaching staff from the Caspian University of Technology and Engineering named after Sh. Yessenov and A. Baitursynov Kostanay State University in Kazakhstan.

The project "Accelerating ICT students start-up development competence via interdisciplinary modular courses in the HEI curricula" (UXiship) is financed and supported by the European Union Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education Program ERASMUS+ (Project Ref. No. 609870-EPP-1-2019-DE-EPPKA2- CBHE-JP).
